A dry sauna has a very high bathing temperature of
90°-110° C in an almost totally dry atmosphere. Formerly very popular, this is ideal if you like to feel the searing sensation of heat that dries your skin
and hair, when your lungs burn with each breath of hot air. Perfect for
reading a book or magazine. |
Currently more popular is the wet sauna with temperatures ranging from
75°-90° C and humidity between 20-35%. Now and then you ladle water onto
the hot rocks to achieve your desired temperature and humidity.
Usually saunas are made with fine European woods such as Spruce, Aspen,
Alder or Pine. |
Not to be confused with
the wet sauna. Amid
clouds of steam in a
special room of fiberglass,
glass or tiles at a low
temperature of around 40°-45° C you
enjoy the stimulating
sensation of 100% humidity.
Reading inside is not
recommended! |
